Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

Physiotherapist is trained to perform physiotherapy and rehabilitation of congenital or acquired diseases, disorders or injuries and to perform preventive physiotherapy procedures in the context of the protection and development of health. In this context, physiotherapist as the healthcare professional who determines the physiotherapy and rehabilitation needs of the patients by using modern evaluation and measurement methods, for plans the physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs and performs the necessary procedures personally.

Physiotherapists involve with preventive, corrective and developmental  studies, to consider the needs and demands of patients, their families, healthy persons and the whole society and to improve of the quality of life and health, which is a requirement of education and training of themselves.

Our Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department, which was established in 2013 to provide updated and evidence-based education aiming to bring up innovative physiotherapist who adonted universal values and principled physiotherapists under of physiotherapy and rehabilitation to contribute to the development of health through scientific researches.

Bahçeşehir University’s Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation offers the programs listed below at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels:

Vocational Profile

The working areas of physiotherapists are getting varied day by day. They can work in different work places and fields. For example, they can work in nonoperative branches in hospitals Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Neurology, Cardiology, Chest Diseases, Rheumatology, Internal Medicine; operative branches as Orthopedics and Traumatology, Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular and Chest Surgery, Obstetrics and Uro-Gynecology, General Surgery, Hand Surgery, Emergency and Intensive Care Units.

They can also work in the institutions except the hospitals: Rehabilitation Centers, Branch Centers, Public Health Centers, Rehabilitation Centers for Mental, Visual and Auditory Disturbances, Care and Training Centers Established for Children and the Elderly, Vocational Rehabilitation Centers, Municipalities and Ministries, Sports, Fitness Centers and Sports Clubs, Home Care and Rehabilitation, Schools and Factories.
