Dear Students,
At Bahcesehir University in the Faculty of Architecture and Design, with the departments of Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and Industrial Design, and a vision of an interdisciplinary integrated education at the centre of education today and in the future, we offer our students a quality vocational education at different scales ranging from designing a product to a city. An integrated understanding of education that extends beyond the curriculum is supported by national and international technical visits, seminars, interviews, conferences, vocational and artistic exhibition activities and aims to contribute to our students culturally and intellectually as well as supporting their professional development. To do this, we offer important educational activities including exchange programs with Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, international summer/winter workshops held annually in Japan, Spain, Austria and Italy, and Erasmus / World Exchange programs.
The location advantage of our campus, in Besiktas/Yildiz in the center of Istanbul/, supports processing history and theory courses from a contextual aspect, while inspiring the development of project topics focusing on the needs and problems of the city in the design studio courses. BAU Faculty of Architecture and Design attaches importance to offering sectoral experience integrated into the curriculum early in the students’ education with the CO-OP model.
By providing education in a rich intercultural interactive environment with many international students from different countries, the main mission of our faculty is to educate professionals who can integrate with the contemporary world and have professional competence in their awareness of their cultural values, confidence to take responsibility in the globalizing world, engagement at the centre of technological developments in their sector, and embrace of universal ethical values.
