Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Academician Prof.Dr. Süreyya Akyüz and her students Melisa Çalışkan Demir and Buse Çisil Güldoğuş made their presentations at the “Optimization For Deep Learning” session at the 32nd EURO 2022 Conference of Aalto University in Finland.

Organized by Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and attended by our Vice Rector Prof.Tunç Bozbura, the "BAU Engineering Day" event was held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at South Campus A Bahçe. In the event organized by the Capstone Project Exhibition and Competition, the project titled "Musical Water Fountain" was entitled to be the winner of the competition.

BAU Smart Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Laboratory students Sevil Dursun (Molecular Biology and Genetics) and Haris Ziyade (Mechatronics Engineering)  have been awarded as a TÜBİTAK STAR scholars within the scope of the Development of Lanthanite, Lanthanite Oxide, and Permanent Magnets by Recycling for Electronics, Energy and Defense Industry project under the supervision of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ozan Akdoğan.

Our team "Scooterobotics", representing Bau in the production of Unmanned Autonomous Surface Vehicles for the Roboik 2022 competition of the Ministry of Defense Dec, took fourth place in the final among all universities in Turkey and received an award.

The Future of Laboratories (FOL) Certificate Program, implemented by Siemens Healthineers Turkey to prepare university students for the future of laboratories, ended after an intensive training period of approximately twelve weeks. In the FOL Certificate Program final held in cooperation with Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University and Acıbadem Labmed, the top three projects were determined in the final program held on 4 June.

Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Academician Assoc. Dr. Ozan Akdoğan's national patent named "Taking Fe16N2 Compound as Permanent Magnet" has been registered.

Süreyya Akyüz won the Best Poster Award at the "Marie Curie Alumni Annual Conference and General Assembly 2022" award, organized in Lisbon.

In cooperation with IKSD and Bahçesehir University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Civil Engineering Tuesday March 22nd, the "Safe Pier Vocational Training Seminar" was held.

TÜBİTAK 1001 - The Scientific and Technological Research Projects Funding Program within the results of scientific evaluation; Project of Assist Prof. Ömer POLAT, from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences has qualified to be supported for a period of  24 months.

Bahçeşehir University CFA Research Challenge team was among the 6 most successful teams in this year's competition and qualified to participate in the national final.

Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Faculty Member Dr. Okan Şakar's publication from the TUBITAK 3501 project was selected as the best article published in the journal 'Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing' in 2020 and was awarded the Nightingale Award.

Bahçeşehir University Department of Energy Systems Engineering Faculty Member Dr. Barış Çakmak was awarded the 2021 Research Incentive Award by the METU Parlar Foundation.

TÜBİTAK 1002 - Short Term R&D Funding Program within the results of scientific evaluation; Project of Assist Prof. Elif EREN, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences “Identification of bacterial effectors regulating host Gasdermin B protein” has qualified to be supported for a period of 12 months.

At the 12th IEEE IEMCON conference held in October 2021, Canada, our faculty's Software Engineering Instructor Duygu Çakır, 3rd year Computer Engineering student Görkem Yılmaz and Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr. Nafiz Arıca won the "Best Paper" award in the category of "Image Processing and Multimedia Technology" with their paper titled "Facial Action Unit Detection with ViT and Perceiver Using Landmark Patches". Our instructor Duygu Çakır, who presented the study at the same conference, won the "Best Presentation" award in the same category.
